During this training you will be grading attendees using the provided mark scheme in each section. The maximum marks available is 30 and trainees require 25 to pass this training. Keep track of each trainees marks using any method you wish (eg. notepad, handwritten, notes on phone) Ensure that you make this clear to all trainees.
Introduction
"Hello everybody and welcome to the second stage of your training. In this training we will be going over driving, equipment and scenarios."
Driving - Cones Course
"Within the Metropolitan Police Service we expect all officers to be able to drive in a safe and professional manner. This training will hopefully prepare you to be able to drive at high speeds under high pressure situations. To begin with, each trainee will be required to complete an obstacle course. During this course, you will need to weave in and out of the cones firstly going forwards and then once reaching the end, reversing back down them."
Instructors will now demonstrate
Once all understand, have each attendee do this one at a time using the follow scheme to mark them:
Successfully passing through all cones forwards
3
Award 1 mark for each of the following. - Going at a reasonably fast speed - Clear control of vehicle - Not hitting any cones
Successfully passing through all cones backwards
3
Award 1 mark for each of the following. - Going at a reasonably fast speed - Clear control of vehicle - Not hitting any cones
Once all trainees have completed the cones course and you've recorded their marks, move onto the driving evaluation.
Driving - Evaluation
"In this section, you will each be asked to drive a vehicle to a location on the map. You will be given directions if absolutely needed. You will be required to drive to the location using the knowledge you learnt in your theory training. You will be marked on your use of emergency lighting, the time it takes for you to reach the location, and the efficiency of the route you take. Every two objects you hit is a 1 mark reduction so drive carefully."
Please only use the following locations always starting from the police spawn in the parking spot furthest from the exit so it's always fair and the distance has been measured for these:
